Google To Announce New Paid Subscription Services For You Tube
More and more businesses have been utilizing the free YouTube service which has allowed advertising on YouTube (as well as other free video sites) to grow exponentially. But even with the growth of users and advertisers, You Tube’s profit margin is still but a fraction of network television budgets. Recently eMarketer announced that digital video advertising is expected to climb from $2.93 billion up to $4.14 billion by the end of this year. Even if that prediction plays out as expected, it would still only account for just 2.4% of all advertising spending.
I suggest that if you are using YouTube as part of your overall business marketing strategy that you either start budgeting for the inevitable changes that are forthcoming to Google’s favorite child, or start researching alternative video services that you can benefit from. This is but step #1 on a journey leading to the systematic monetization of online video. Free rides are never free forever!
